Where's my pooper-scooper? I smell BULLSHIT!! I have been trying desperately not to vent my spleen on this one but I can't hold back my anger at this story. A number of companies have withdrawn their advertising from Facebook because they were alerted to the fact that their ads appeared on a BNP page. Oh come on!
First Direct, Vodafone, Virgin Media, the AA, Halifax and the Prudential have all withdrawn ads. Virgin said it had to "protect its brand".
First Direct went as far as to say..
We have got to make sure that the places we advertise are consistent with our own values and identity
Presumably First Direct's values do not include freedom, democracy, common sense, or tolerance! The companies can't choose where their ads appear, but to pull them because they appear next to BNP pages is absurd. Perhaps First Direct, Vodafone and the others might like to stop selling to BNP members? Thought not. I bet their 'values' don't apply when self interest is at stake. Hypocritical tosspots.
When they were alerted to the fact by the self-righteous and uber-PC New Media Age magazine they should have told them were to go swing. Instead we have this battle of brands trying to out-disgust each other and pander to the liberal, Jesus sandal wearing, politically correct, equality-fascists and simply show themselves to be spineless turds who would struggle to beat an amoeba in an IQ test.

I am sorry but what are the 'BNP' pages?
The BNP is the British National Party. They have a policy for forced repatriation of non-ethnic Brits to their country of origin. They are widely percieved by the media and 'mainstream' opinion as extreme right-wing.
They are however a legitimate political party with significant support. There is no logical reason for companies to pull advertising, which they have no control over where it appears, because it appears on a BNP page. They only did it as a PR excericese because having left it there once alerted would have made them open to accusations. They should have refused to pull the ads on the basis that they are politcally neutral rather thn pull them and not pander to the politically correct brigade.
